Public Notice: Environmental Assessment of Brunswick Landing Solar PV Project Available
The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) and Pegasus Solar, LLC, have completed a draft Environmental Assessment to evaluate potential impacts associated with a proposed 1.5-megawatt dc solar photovoltaic generating system planned for installation at the Brunswick Executive Airport at 2 Pegasus St., Brunswick, Maine 04011.
The proposed solar system will be located on an abandoned runway and taxiway to the northeast of the existing airfield. The draft Environmental Assessment provides the Federal Aviation Administration with the information necessary to determine whether impacts associated with the proposed solar project are significant or not, and whether they have the potential to contribute to cumulative impacts to the environment. Based on this determination, the FAA will issue a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or the agency will require the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to further analyze the proposed project and associated impacts.
The draft EA is available for review on MRRA’s website, and will be available for review at the Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant Street Brunswick, Maine 04011.
Public Comments must be received in writing or via email by 5 pm, Sept. 21, 2017. Public Comments will be included in the Final EA and submitted to the FAA for review and consideration.
