Stamford, CT–RollEase, a Connecticut-based company and leader in custom window treatment componentry design and development, is pleased to announce they have just executed a lease agreement with Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) at Brunswick Landing, the former Navy Air Base, where they will establish their new Product Innovation Center.
The 11,000 square foot Innovation Center, which will be completed and fully staffed by this spring, will serve as the company’s Research and Development hub and include state-of-the-art prototyping equipment and extensive testing capabilities.  Projects conducted at this multi-million dollar facility will be led by RollEase Senior Vice President, Greg Farr, former Executive Director of the Brunswick Downtown Association.  Farr, now taking on the additional role of Chief Innovation Officer for RollEase, has returned to the area and now resides full-time in Brunswick after spending many years here part-time.

“Our industry and customers are clearly ready for new designs and ideas. We wanted a game-changing approach to our product development program. Having someone of Greg’s caliber and seniority within our company to personally oversee this effort speaks to its importance and will be a big factor in assuring its success,” said Derick Marsh, President of RollEase.

Farr, who has twenty-three years of experience in the window covering operating systems and components industry, plans to hire a minimum of ten engineers for the new Innovation Center for RollEase, as well as product managers and a full complement of support staff.  Customers will be welcomed to the facility to share ideas and experiment with the latest prototypes of window covering components.  Farr is already working on collaborating with the University of Maine on joint development ideas and has purposely located this Innovation Center at Brunswick Landing, an industrial campus that caters to advanced manufacturing and technology companies.

“The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA), have been great supporters of our efforts. I’m looking forward to working with our customers to bring needed solutions to our industry and re-energize the great track record of RollEase as we develop ground-breaking technologies,” said Farr.

“We’re pleased to have a quality, growing company like RollEase join the Brunswick Landing lineup,” MRRA Executive Director Steve Levesque said. “They have an experienced management team and are interested in keeping their employees well-trained, which our campus is well set up to help them with. We think they’ll be a great fit.”
