USMC Helicopters Squadron Based at BXM for Winter Training Mission
The HMH-464 heavy lift helicopter squadron from the 2nd Marine Air Wing (MAW) has been here for the past couple of weeks on a winter training mission.
These birds, CH-53E “Super Stallions” manufactured by Sikorsky, are the largest rotorcraft used by the military.

HMH-464 supports the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) commander by providing assault support transport of heavy equipment, combat troops, and supplies, day or night under all weather conditions during Expeditionary, Joint, or Combined operations.
This outfit is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Jennifer L. Grieves, who started out as a recruit at Parris Island and worked her way up the ranks.
